The tension and anticipation of the ceremony gave way to warm, lively conversation during the tea break. The tea break area was decorated in a minimal, modern style. Sleek, all-white long tables were set with acrylic dessert stands in geometric forms, lined with exquisitely crafted tea snacks brimming with design flair. The matcha mousse was cut with architectural lines, while the black sesame macarons featured circuit-like patterns in edible gold leaf—echoing the event’s theme of innovation.
The designers not only achieved brilliant results at this year’s IDPA AWARD International Pioneer Design Prize, but also showcased how design thinking can be integrated across industries to meet the demands of our time. We look forward to seeing more outstanding works that will continue to shape the future of design through creativity.
We firmly believe in design’s power to change the world. With the motto “Explore, Coexist, Overcome — Toward a Sustainable Future,” the Japan IDPA Awards encourage designers to transcend conventional frameworks, balance human-centered care with technological innovation, and apply creativity to foster harmony between nature and society—so that design can truly contribute to humanity’s future. Going forward, the Japan IDPA Awards will adopt a more open and inclusive approach, build a global design ecosystem, and promote the sharing and collaboration of innovative resources.
The 2025 Japan IDPA Award International Pioneer Design Prize Ceremony concluded in Tokyo.
